The below is what I did:-

hda1 = xp
hda2 = swap
hda3 = ext2 (75MB for boot image, GRUB Frugal Install)
hda4 = etx2 (for MyDSL, data and Backup)

Option: mydsl=hda4 restore=hda4

It works. Good luck :D

For ndiswrapper, I copied WLAN driver (inf and sys files) from Driver CD to /home/dsl/ and using:
Code Sample
ndiswrapper -i /home/dsl/filename.inf
ndiswrapper -l
ndiswrapper -m

If there is no error message, then using iwconfig command in aterm as Root:-
Code Sample
# iwconfig wlan0                                                          <for checking>
# iwconfig wlan0 essid "Your Network" key 0123-4567-89 <for connecting>
and use Firefox for internet connection testing.
Note: all files in /home/dsl and /opt will be backup in /hda4/backup.tar.gz because I am using option: restore=hda4. Good luck :D

yup, tried that a few weeks ago..lol..

Was getting

1. "ndiswrapper already installed, use -e (i think it was) to remove"
or
2. cpanel wouldnt let me mod the default path

So then reloaded XP to hda1 so it could use the default path and tried again. LiveCD worx bu HD doesnt.

Im sorta thinking I still ddoing something wrong with the drives.

I did get a frugal in without "the cant find hdxx" errors but ndiswrapper same as above....

I am doing plain jane installs

I know the logs are in /var but i cant find a boot log, or if i did it was empty which is rite cause at the end of boot it says it cant mount or find hdxx's ... BUT it still manages to save passwords and other settings....

one thing i have noticed is it detects a eth0 card but the non-onboard nic board only has the pci-wlan card in it... I havnt looked itno this cause i am pretty sure it is always going to detect a eth0 or put one in anyway... It doesnt see said eth0 with netcardconfigurator

The macine i am on is a cel900 with 128ram and an old pci-video card rather than the onboard vid...

Funny thing is I got me old 7800 armada lappy with 98se,win2k,XPpro AND RH6.2 multi-booting brillanty. i thought this wld be cinchy...

many thanks for your assist on this.

DSL can only mount and READ NTFS partitions...with this

http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm

Windows can write to ext2

I would recommend using fat32 for windows (I think fat 32 only support 4Gig partitions though)
