ta for that Brian,
ro for ntfs and all the 7's for fat32, yep got that... i thought (not that it matters) fat32 was rite for upto 8gig, I have a 4g hda.
Here is something interesting ....
with explore2fs-1.08beta3 reports error "Windows NT 5.1 build number 2600 Could not find valid Superblock"
with explore2fs.exe "access violation at address 00020152 in module explore2fs.exe . Read of address 00000008"
The above was tested with a "Limp Linux" distro (limp_ver2.1.zip) installed on XP on a ntfs drive.... I know - I know fat only but Limp did stick and a fs within a file shud be rite even if it is ro ntfs...
My guess is the bad-block error causing all the prob. I know this has something to do with the mbr and boot.sectors but is too much google for me.
Shud it matter that I have hda 4g, hdc 1.2g and hdd 1.2g with a cdrw hdb drive on the ide's...
By earlier post I have fat32 XP and mke2fs hda1, so i did it proper then and are ow willing to accept ro HD dsl install just to preserve the XP install an get dsl going from HD. After that worx I intended to install dsl to hdc and tackle the boot-loader edits to give a dual booter
