It is not a Lua problem but a permission issue and only when installing via a traditional hard drive install.
User dsl has no write access. But then again, it is not recommended to be using mydsl extensions on a traditional hard drive install, as they, mydsl extensions, were designed for live CD and frugals.
I will fix this. But I am still debating on whether to popup a big warning when attempting to use extensions on a traditional hard drive install.
Simple fix:
sudo chgrp staff /opt/.mydsl_dir
The only safe extension to use on a traditional hard drive installation is the uci type.
