I'm having the same problems: I'm getting a similar error message when I try to install software. In my case, it's AbiWord and the offending library is libXrandr2.

Can you fellas elaborate on the solution for your case? And exactly what do you mean by "destroy your system"---make it completely unbootable or just not DSL anymore?
