Oh, wait... NOW that you've got the OS installed on your box, and it's up and running, you'll want to do these things quickly to make sure it's in top shape, and stays that way!!

1. Install motherboard drivers. 1A. Reboot 2. Install all new hardware drivers. 2A. Reboot many times 3. Install virus-scanning software. 3A. Reboot 4. Upgrade and update virus-scanning software. 4A. Reboot 5. Install spyware-scanning software. 5A. Reboot 6. Upgrade and update spyware-scanning software. 6A. Reboot 7. Install personal firewall. 7A. Reboot 8. Upgrade personal firewall. 8A. Reboot 9. Call to validate your user license key 9A. Reboot 10. Install service packs. 10A. Reboot many times 11 Install security patches. 11A. Reboot many times 12. Install all user software. 12A. Reboot many times 13. Upgrade all user software. 13A. Reboot many times 14. backup partition. 15. pray for no major hardware failures.... ...if mobo=0 , repeat 1-14, as your backup may be useless..
