Hi, I had the same problem with xmms since I also had .flac files to play. I tried downloading the xmms-flac plugins from www.xmms.org but they had an .deb extension meaning they were debian and I didn't know how to port them into .dsl so I gave up. I accidentally found out that mplayer.dsl in the myDSL repository can play .flac audio files (I also grabbed the codepack.dsl for other things too) when you select all files inside the preferences, open files) I suggest you can it a quick try.
