Router or hardware firewall? If you're looking at building a firewall, why not look at IPCOP? It has DMZ, VPN, DHCP server...

It should work with your hardware, if not you may want to check the Linux Router Project.  It's dead, but there are floppy images that should also do the job.  Pretty much the same requirements for LRP as for Coyote.
