Had the same problem in Puppy Linux and Knoppix - It is a driver problem - or rather the lack of them. Nvidia has a linux driver on their website and a user on the Puppy linux board has broken out the modules for the net connection and sound. They need to be copied to a file that will be saved in the persistant memory. Then they can be entered from a console when starting up or a script written to do so automatically - in Puppy at least you will get a warning message that using them will "taint the kernel". Results, at least in Puppy, have been good - no prioblems from the use of them so far. The post with the modules can be found at www.puppylinux.org - forums/users forum. If someone more knowledgeable in DSL can specify what would be the best places to put these files in DSL that would be a big help. Still something of a linux newbie and not at all familiar with DSL and its file structure.
