first my English is real bad sorry.

I'm using an old notebook with an pcmcia modem and configured my internet connect with pppconfig.
But the modem don't dialt. No ton on the line.

So I searched here in the forum and found the tip to write in an terminal : (I did all as root)
tail -f/var/log/messages

That I did, and then I made:

cd /var/log/

and than:

less messages
There stood something about that /dev/pcd0 was not found or wrong. And something about etc/ppp/peers/provider.

So I opend this File (etc/ppp/peers/provider) with scite.
There I found /dev/pcd0  and overwrite pcd0 with modem.

And now it works.

Maybe this will help someone.
