When I first booted DSL 0.8.0 I was astonished to find that I was online without having to do anything. Then I tried 0.9.1 and I was online with that. Then I tried somebody else's version of 0.9.1 where you got boot options at the beginning. And since then I can't get online using any version.
I can't access any web pages, can't access the MyDSL repository, can't ping domain names or numbers. I don't know why, but it is very frustrating, as my computer won't boot Windows XP at the moment, and I wanted to troubleshoot with Linux.
The DSL Control Panel says that DHCP is on, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

I would value anyone's ideas on how to make DHCP work again...

Googled around and found out that if I disconnected my router, booted DSL, and then reconnected my router and started DHCP client again it would all work. At least I think that's what happened. Anyway, it's working. Might be worth putting in some FAQ or other....

I'm trying different flavors of Linux...again (been trying for 7 years.  It gets a little easier each time) because I'm so weary of MS constant security problems and never ending patches and buggy bloatware, etc, etc.

Macs have those same issues.  But without the security issues, the never ending patches, and the bloatware.

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.
