When I use DSL with my US Robotics 5610 internal modem I set my modem as " /dev/ttyS4 ".

I use the same model modem in two different machines and both have to be set as stated above, hope this helps.

Thanks I will try. One more thing, I found that once I created a provider I can not remove it, I also can not add a new one, could you help me step by step to setup the dial up thanks.

I just successfully dial out, but can't resolve host, my ISP uses dynmaic DNS, I also tried to use fixed one but still the same, and the line dropped about 1min. looks like I did not logon the network yet, I tried PAP and CHAP but the same. When I ping I got access denied error, and I don't know the root password.

Sounds like you are getting closer to connecting to your ISP. It would seem that if you have filled in all of the info correctly in PPP Dial you should be all set.Keep trying and you should be able set up another account also.I'll give it a try here and see what happens.

EDIT> just tried to set up another connection and was successful. When I selected "Hangup" from PPP Dial and then selected to configure another connection the "provider" box was blank in PPP Dial. I am using DSL 0.9.3 at the moment from a hard drive install.

I tried the same CD on a DHCP Lan workstation which has a fixed connection to the Internet, once boot up I can browse the net without any problem, it is just the dial up missing something.

PS. Do I have to track this topic every time to receive notification, the box reset to uncheck every time.
