Hello everybody, I've been running DSL 1.1 on a compaq prosignia 165 laptop, which has the specs of a 366 MHz P2 processor, and 128 RAM, 1 Usb 1.1 and some other crap which probably doesn't matter. but anyhoo, my question is this. I bought the Gigafast 741-UIc USB wireless B adapter specifically because they have linux support. Funny part is, i've tried it under a few distros and i haven't been able to get it to work in any of them (both desktop and this craptop). I went to their website and took a look at their PDF instructions for linux, which can be found here: http://gigafast.com/products/product_drivers/WF741-UIC_drivers.htm
and while it runs the Zydas chip, the instructions say to use Prism2.5_usb drivers. I noticed in the working wireless cards thread that it is stated to be not working, but i'm wondering why, since DSL has Prism 2.5 support. I've screwed around with the command line a bit, trying to manually get this thing to work per the instructions, but i can't seem to locate a prism2.5_usb. Any suggestions or tips? or would you like me to post part of the instructions? Anything besides a line in USBview would be nice. Thanks for your help, Chris
