Same here.  That doesn't necessarily mean that the drivers themselves are faulty.  The messages I received indicated that the build process was successful.  Beyond that, I have no idea...never had much knowledge about hardware support.

well...I'm not migrating to anything, since i already use 3 distros as it is.  But i'm guessing these "puppy" modules would help =o)

no mikshaw,

i meant for KinY, or anybody else trying to get ltmodems working. i tried, gave up & took easier option of puppy. i know there is argument that people should buy proper modem etc. but if you've already got laptop with winmodem why not use if possible. i'm sure for linuxheads compilation of ltmodem would be no problem so don't understand why hasn't been done & ltmodem.dsl available for dload. have people with aversion to using winmodems also replaced bios with linuxbios? (tongue in cheek!).

I think I have successfully created a myDSL package to load the lucent drivers on DSL. It works on my box, but mine is a little strange--a Compaq IA1 Internet Appliance with a HD install to a flash card. Could someone test the following myDSL add-on before I post it?

http://www.pire-ky.org/temp/linmodup.tar.gz

You will have to get into emelFM and load the myDSL package. Next, to load the modules and configure the modem, type the following from the root console:

/opt/linmodup/linmodup

Please note that this will taint the kernel, but it works perfectly on my system. To see what the package is actually doing:

more /opt/linmodup/linmodup

If you have any reccomendations or it does not work on your system, please let me know. In particular, when running from CD, I am wondering if the mknod line will work.
