I appreciate all the suggestions!...except none of them worked for me :(. What happens is it starts to boot fine, and gets past the part I had problem I had before, except not only does the text whiz off the screen instead of following it, the whole computer screen goes black instead of loading a desktop.

Use the cheat code that got you the farthest but this time add xsetup so you can configure the screen.
