Native sound works fine. No need for alsa.
My T20 reports a CS 4614 Crystal Clear Sound Fusion Audio Acclerator
Click the DSLpanel -> System Stats -> Hardware Tab and look for SOUND_FULLNAME and SOUND_DRIVER

Maybe you need to unmute the sound device or increase the volume for "Master Volume", "PCM Volume" and your audio app, eg: xmms
