I've always liked stripped down Linux distros, since I normally place them on old hardware. However, I'm trying to get DSL running on my HP Laptop (roughly 8 months old), and this is my first time working with a computer with a wireless card.

I have the LiveCD going, and I just can't figure out how to work with my INTERNAL wireless card to get a net connection running. Could anybody point me in a general direction to get this thing online?

The device manager in windows shows it as: Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN

pls go and get Window$ drivers:-

If there is no error message, then using iwconfig command in aterm as Root:-

# iwconfig wlan0 essid "Your Network" key 0123-4567-89 <for connecting>

and use Firefox for internet connection testing.
Note: all files in /home/dsl and /opt will be backup in /hda4/backup.tar.gz because I am using option: restore=hda4. Good luck

ndiswrapper -l returns:

Install ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 hardware present

ndiswrapper -m
modprobe config already contains alias directive

I can't get past the ndiswrapper -m part.

That means you did command: ndiswrapper -i /home/dsl/bcmwl5.inf before.
Please do this command for removing the driver first:-

ndiswrapper -e bcmwl5

then try again:-

ndiswrapper -i /home/dsl/bcmwl5.inf
ndiswrapper -l
ndiswrapper -m

It's still giving me the exact same error when I do -m

"modprobe config already contains alias directive"

Also, if I ignore that and try the iwconfig wlan0

"wlan0 No such device"
