I've been trying to get into the liveCD environment (using a USB flash drive) to install DSL on my HP omnibook xe4400 (Pentium 4, 30GB HD, 256MB RAM), but no matter what I do, I encounter this error:
Quote:Fatal Error
Neither aufs nor overlayfs is available

I'm guessing this is a problem with antiX, since someone had the same problem, but using the failsafe option doesn't work for me. Any help? Big Grin

Are you attempting to run off of a USB install? If so, how did you install DSL onto the USB? Does the USB stick boot fine on other machines?
Soooo, based on absolutely nothing, here's some flock-shooting free-associations in case they help:

- md5sum good on iso to begin with
- iso itself either the lz4 for usb of, if CD-version, has had isohybrid run first
- iso installed to stick with dd (ie not UNetbootin etc)
- USB stick has resh (mkfs.vfat) filesystem before dd
- USB 1.1 option chosen in Plop option (somewhere--can't remember or find quickly on Plop forum)
- thumbdrive addressable in (32bit < 2^32 ~4GB) by BIOS
