For this RC I focused a lot on bug fixes and refinements:
- Replaced gksu with a YAD sudo script
- Added DarkHTTPd (a lightweight web server)
- Added French, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese support to Sylpheed
- Fixed several small bugs and formatting issues
- Restored Galternatives and Archive-extract programs
- Added a subroutine to bypass menu rebuilding at startup if the language is set to en_* (for faster boot time)
- Set up Firefox-esr so that it works using the Fluxbox & JWM window framing by default
- Modified "lowram" subroutines to work properly after HD install
I am having surgery tomorrow, so I may be less available for the next week or so.

Hi people. I have a laptop with 2 GB of RAM and 2 cores of RAM. The question is, which version is better to choose, if of course there are enough characteristics for the installations

Hi. Do I still need to run Isohybrid on the dsl-2024.rc5.iso image to create a bootable USB? I'm on Linux Mint and have tried this following the instructions and using USB Image Writer and Etcher to write to USB. No luck so far in creating a bootable USB for my Asus VivoBook. Never had any problems booting other distros from USB with my laptop before.
Any links to a foolproof, USB bootable DSL image for new Linux users? Thanks.
I have also tested Antix on my VivoBook. Burned the current ISO to USB using USB Image Writer on Mint. The VivioBook booted from USB with no problems. Any tips would be welcome. Thanks.

Not sure if this is an issue or not, and not sure if it is directly related to AntiX or DSL, but here goes:
I have a fresh install of DSL 2024 and while changing the name of my server in /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts I came across >75000 entries in my hosts file like this:
# BEGIN (below) - IPs added by antiX Advert Blocker #
127.0.0.1 <my host name>
.
. a lot of the same entries here
.
127.0.0.1 <my host name>
# END (above) - IPs added by antiX Advert Blocker #
I've read a couple of posts on AntiX forums about removing antiX Advert Blocker and I will do that if the hosts file continues to get overrun by these entries. However, anyone have any insight into why/how these entries are being populated?
(cross posted on the AntiX forums)
