The issue is with the UEFI (type 2 hypervisor) vs. legacy bios (type 1 hypervisor). DSL does not support EFI booting at this time. The issue is GPT vs. MBR. One or two users have reported success using GPT, but I have not tried. If you can make it legacy bios type (Generation 1), DSL will find the MBR. Otherwise, if you care about what you already have, it looks like you can basically backup and get there (or a more "windows NAS way").
