Unable to boot into liveCD - Fatal Error

I've been trying to get into the liveCD environment (using a USB flash drive) to install DSL on my HP omnibook xe4400 (Pentium 4, 30GB HD, 256MB RAM), but no matter what I do, I encounter this error:

Fatal Error
Neither aufs nor overlayfs is available

I'm guessing this is a problem with antiX, since someone had the same problem, but using the failsafe option doesn't work for me. Any help?
