Hi all, I have backup restore configured to write to a HD partition hda3 (frugal lilo install, now changed to a grub install). It works for all default settings. However, I need a persistent root password. I tried to add /etc/shadow to filetool (as root of course) but emelfm simply displayed "end of output" and failed to add the file to filetool.
Also, i tried to use emelfm to edit /etc/lilo.conf by right clicking on it and clicking "view" in beaver, but I was not able to toggle off readonly mode in beaver.
It's as though emelfm doesn't recoginze me as being root. What is causing this?
