I have tried to edit the menu.lst to add mydsl=hda5 where my dsl apps are.  I notice that even when using super user modes in beaver, I can see the file, but can't modify it.  Being a bit of a DSL/Linux novice, what do I need to do here?

What DSL version? From 2.3 on it auto detects the myDSL folder containing your mydsl extentions. You just have to make sure your extentions are in there, make sure the folder name is " myDSL ".

Please use Menu --> Apps --> Tools --> emelFM --> emelFM as super-user
EDIT: If you want to edit menu.lst, you need to use emelFM as super-user

What? Why not just tell him to right click the icon and select super user? why super user? You shouldn't use root unless you need to, especialy were installing is required. The myDSL extensions don't have to be installed as super user.

Using Menu or Right Click on the icon ... nothing's different. The main idea is how-to become super-user, right?   :)
