if you put the extention in the root of your disk, it will automaticly load a boottime, so no need to re-install.
if you have a poorman's install, put the extentions in the root and use the backup/restore automaticly at shutdown/boot, you have a system that looks much like a "real" install. But it is far more easier to update to a new DSL version and you can add or remove extentions withouth problems.
