"the new theme gets lost when you change themes" Yeah...I suppose I could have put it into ~/.fluxbox/styles, but that didn't cross my mind. You can get it back with the 'SetStyle' command, added to your menu, keys, or typed into command dialog: "setstyle /opt/fluxbox-0.9.11/share/fluxbox/styles/dsl-mik". Or you can copy/link the file into ~/.fluxbox/styles to have it come up under styles in the menu.
"how about making menu alpha maybe 220-230 by default, just to add a subtle reminder that it's there? Or is there an issue with older hardware" That's the reason. I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I thought it would be best to have no transparency as the default just in case, particularly since it has become so easy to change through the menu.
"And cut the virtual desktops back down to 3 (currently 4, causes them to stack in two rows)." Are you talking about the pager? I had no idea, since I don't use a pager myself. Next release will be 3 desktops (does anyone even regularly use 4 workspaces?).
