The machines are probably screwed down tighter then you know, and in this case I will bet money that the school will know you tried to bypass security. The schools here kick them out, two were in the paper this year alone.

Its ok to know how, it is NOT ALWAYS OK to use that knowledge.

My understanding is that any Qemu visual managers, provided they work (and they need admin rights, don't they), should open qemu without a batch.
The problem is, I tried them all, including Mimiek, and I cannot get them to work. Any ideas?

My work laptop is locked down to a degree that I cannot use Samba between the host and guest OS because I cannot share any directories on my laptop. But otherwise I am able to install QEMU and run the various batch files. I have not tried any of the various QEMU GUI's so cannot comment on those.

That is interesting but not surprising about the batch files. Let me know if converting the file to an .exe will help, but I suspect they may not allow that either. I think that running embedded DSL on cafe-type, school and library computers would be great as it keeps viruses away from the host computer.
