No automatic swap space creation from the live CD but for the HD install, I think that if DSL could keep warning user that they should really create a swap space(either a swap partition or a swap file) if none is detected and memory is tight, that would be a valuable improvement.
In my case, with a P1 75MHz and 16Megs of RAM, DSL kept crashing after just a few minutes of browsing with Dillo. I was about to conclude that DSL was not suitable for this machine when I realized that I had no swap space. After the creation of a tiny swap file of just 16Megs, everything went smoothly. BTW, I'll increase the size of the swap file. I just wanted to see what was the minimum memory requirements to have a working DSL machine capable of doing at least the basic stuff.
Now, I really like DSL. It definitely has all reasons to exist in these years of gigabytes and gigahertz. Long live the megas!
