The script that I submitted to John saves configs on removable media. This is why:
With just a small business card CD and my little pen drive, I can use just about any computer. And it is more than a rescue CD. I want it to be my working desktop. That is why I asked John for more connectivity, e.g. NFS. And now I have that.
I think John has made one of the smallest desktop appliances. Just add a "white box" hardware and presto instant appliance and it works damn fast too! I know alot of people install to hard drive. You may call it a distro. I call it a pocket desktop appliance.
On my computer that has a hard drive, I use it only for my data and not system files. Just mount a partition and go.
That way I have the best of both! Plus I don't have re-install each new DSL to hard drive.
