There are many small distros whose roots have come from DSL and some still come here everyday to learn more.  All should recognize DSL but some don't. Some even remove all references to DSL and their orginal authors contributions.

Here is the latest list. children and relatives of DSL

For a security rescue toolkit  you might want to look at INSERT

Hmm, Robert, resorting to subtle insults isn't exactly the best way to say something... Oh well, each to his own.

I don't get it?  I thought Feather was a fork?  So many of the applications are the same.  Even that tabbed and SSL version of Dillo is the same, and I can't find it anywhere else.

Typhoon, Interesting response because I didn't single anyone out. What's the saying, "if the shoe fits..".

Hi, yes I have looked at Insert but most group members have been asking for DSL (due, maybe to superior hardware support?).
Many corporations use UB because Victor takes a serious view on Open Source and Free content. That's also why a lot of Bart's-Boot stuff never gets included since it has MS content. With the games off DSL it would likely get added, but we have none to help in this area (Any volunteers?).
Like I said earlier, UB doesn't seek to steal thunder from anyone, it's just a good group of launchable CD images on one CD that aspires to add some documentation and a way to reach out.
Tonight I have news - Victor Chew has decided to use FreeDOS and Arachne 1.73 as another boot image to add on the 2.3 release. (but AFAIK, Arachne has no PPPoE support).

Sadly, at this point UBCD will still not offer anyone NTFS write support. That's why I'm here listening in, I have much to learn.

By viewing how long you guys have been here, I consider it fun to also listen to the sibling rivalry - kind of like family eh?
- Cliff

P.S. I going to look close at 'Insert' as you suggested, thanks. I'll be back!  :)
