|HI am lame |
i still cannot estabilish plip connection
on basiclinux i type insmod parport (that's ok), and when i type insmod plip it writes that device is bussy, but i don't
see lp in /proc/devices so can anybody help me??
oh and one more:
what should be complied in kernel, and what should be module to set plip corectly?
try modprobe plip and modprobe will insmod parport and bind it to plip for you and it will load ppp if it isen't compiled in to the kernel if it is no problem it's there and read to use
you don't see lp in /proc/devices because there is no device on /dev/lp0
parport is a stub for other modules and not realy a device driver
the standerd kernel that comes with almost all distros has every thing needed for setting up plip
