Without knowing WHAT brand, kind, of computer, this is about all I can offer for now. ( Laptop or Desktop, Motherboard, internal/add-on soundcard, etc ??.. )
The 2160 is usually a Neomagic chipset number, found on Dells and other laptops.., not a Crystal chipset number. The Crystal chipset is usually a 42xx number, 4232, or 4237, for example.
There is no generic "setup procedure" for soundcards, as you would infer by your last posting. Any config lines or additions to bootlocal or modprobe need to be specific for your chipset.
Post up the output of your "lsmod" command, so we can see the chipsets detected, if any...
Usually the Crystal 4232 config, with a few tweaks, works for most of the Crystal chipsets . You can search for "4232" or "Crystal" in the forums for more info.
