Ke4nt, do you have a frugal or a regular hd install?
I have a poorman's install of dsl 1.5 on a tosh 110cs which I hope to convert to a frugal install, dual boot with windows. It boots up noicons OK except for the bad colors. When I try to boot with xfree86.dsl, everything is fine until it trys to load the extension. Then there is page after page full of 'Cannot create directory ... no space left on drive." Not enough ram?
ram = 40M hda3: 128M linux swap - recognized & used by dsl hda4: 256M ext2 - persistant home & opt hda5: 65M fat16 - KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX and xfree86.dsl
Boot message: Ramdisk 28240K
from syslinux.conf on boot floppy:
APPEND ramdisk_size=100000 init=/etc/init lang=us apm=power-off vga=normal initrd=minirt24.gz atapicd noscsi noideraid nosound nopcmcia nousb nofirewire noicons minimal nomce noapic noapm mem=40M quiet BOOT_IMAGE=knoppix home=hda4 opt=hda4
Andrewb's solution didn't work eithr. Any help appreciated.
