VMware just announced a free VM "player".  It can run a VM created using their regular app.  Does anyone have the ability to create the necessary config for the player so that we can have a DSL image?

That would be good because I couldn't get DSL to work in Virtual PC 2004.  Just to remind you, VMware Player is 28MB.  There's also the trial version of the regular program.

i have a VM ready to work with the new vmplayer and i have tested it enough to ensure that it runs fine. i have also insalled a couple of mydsl packages to ensure that they remain after a shutdown and it does.

so all i need is a place to dump a compressed tar ball for people to download. if somebody is willing to dontate space and bandwidth message me or i will try a find a place to host it and update this thread with the download link

You can email me the file (See PM for email) and I will upload it to our server.  (Assuming that my email will accept it).  If the email doesn't work, I can create a temp. ftp so that you can upload it.

Let me know,
