If you open EmelFM as superuser you can navigate to /mnt and find your usb stick as sda?. Right click on it there and choose mount from the menu.

HI Doobit,

What I did was open a terminal window.
sudo su
emelfm

navigated to  /mnt. no sda there.

I think when the sicks are dark, linux does not know they are there. This only happens with a usb hub and 2.2b.

When I use syslinux, the sticks on the hub work great. I use one of the sticks for my backup/restore.

Thank you for yor help and patience!

Best Regards,

I wonder if there is some sort of USBHub driver that needs to be loaded in order to detect a device that is sitting on a hub.  If so, maybe this driver is not loaded at boot time, which means that any devices that are connected to a hub will not be found.
