Hmm...

The driver is there, but it won't load.

There are no other devices, so there are no other drivers already loaded for this card.

I am assuming that your pcmcia services are working because the other driver message tells you to use a different driver.

When you use DSL 0.82, does the device appear as eth0?

Yes, in 0.82 it does show up as eth0 and it works.

Looks like you aren't the only one with this problem...

One post suggests removing the pcnet_cs module (modprobe -r modulename) before loading the new module. Also, something about modconf

That got me headed in the right direction. I did a hdinstall and replaced the /etc/pcmcia/config file with the one from 0.8.2 and it works.
